I'm so excited to share Seth and Allison's blog with you all!! Ever since the first email exchange between Allison and myself I've been excited about sharing this blog. I love Lake Placid, and when Seth and Allison told us they were celebrating their wedding at the Lake Placid Crowne Plaza Resort and Golf Club, I was thrilled. Late fall with Lake Placid as your backdrop??!! Definitely!
If you missed it, check out Seth and Allison's Engagement Photo shoot by clicking here. You can read more about the details of how we met Seth and Allison there - a fun story!!
Allison had her wedding planned down to the very last detail. Everything was perfect. Even the rainy morning the wedding day started as cleared up at just the right time!
I'm going to get right into these photos because there are a lot to share!! Get comfortable, this blog is a long one. And make sure you stick it out until the end; there are some amazing photos from the end of the night that you don't want to miss!
Allison and her girls started off the morning being beautified at the Mirror Lake Inn Spa. We grabbed some getting ready shots as well as some details.
Everything was so gorgeous. And her ring ... WOW!!! See for yourself! :)
Major props to Seth for picking out Allison's ring and surprising her with it!!!
I love details from weddings, but even more, I love the history of some of the details and why our brides choose what they do. I learned some fun stuff about these pearls and earrings from Allison. The pearls have been passed down from her grandmother to her mother and then to Allison. The earrings were a very special gift from Allison's mother a few years ago and can only be found in Glens Falls. So unique and special!!!
The final product? A gorgeous bride!! Allison looked amazing!!! Perfect everything!
Seth and Allison wanted to do a non-traditional first look. They didn't want to actually see each other, but wanted to be able to get a photo with each other before the ceremony. Thankfully, the rain stopped, the sun came out and we found the perfect spot outside of the Crowne Plaza for their "first look". I love these next photos!
Putting her vows on paper just before the ceremony...
Time to tie the knot! The golf club is really so beautiful. With the rain stopping and the sun coming out we really got some amazing colors in the sky!
Such a great moment!
After the ceremony, we went with Seth and Allison over to John Brown Farm for portraits. What a beautiful location to shoot. Allison planned this part perfectly. She didn't want to rush portrait time (and I love you for it Allison!!) so she extended her cocktail hour so we could really take our time with their portraits. I'm so glad she did. The results were worth every second.
These next two photos are pretty similar, but taken at two different angles. Another benefit of having two photographers; different effects from different angles! I loved them both so much I couldn't share just one. :)
The wedding party looking amazing!
This next one I am sharing especially for Seth and Allison's sister Kristen. There has been talks of a bloopers (or outtakes) blog because we have so many goofy, fun photos. (this crew was so fun to work with!!) Seth and Kristen, who are all for the outtakes blog also happen to be in a lot of the goofy photos, so I thought I'd share this one just for fun. Enjoy!
And maybe just one goofy one of Seth and Allison too. (hehe, sorry again Allison) ;)
A few more serious shots before we headed back to the Crowne Plaza...
Once we arrived back at the Crowne Plaza, everything was in full swing. Dave Cannon of Elite Sounds Entertainment was on hand to spin the tunes and keep the celebration going.
Gorgeous cake and cupcakes by Cake Placid.
After some fantastic toasts, Seth and Allison had their first dance to one of my favorite tunes: You and Me by Dave Matthews Band. Fun fact: That song also happened to be our first dance song when we got married!
Seth and Allison had their parent dances at the same time; a great idea!
We got a lot of great candids throughout the night. I'm could really go crazy and post a lot of them, but for now, I'm just going to share a few of my favorites and leave the rest for Allison and Seth to enjoy and share. It was quite the party!! What a great group of families!!
After the reception ended, we hung out a little longer with Seth and Allison to capture some really fun shots; and some of my favorites!
Sparklers!!!
I'm going to end the blog with these next two photos. Seth and Allison; THANK YOU so much for letting us be a part of your day, and for the amount of trust you put in us. We've really enjoyed getting to know you guys, and I'm so excited that our friendship continues to grow. You both have such wonderful families, and it was so great being a part of such a special day. Congratulations to you both again!!!
