Here we go with another beautiful Lake Placid wedding!
Melissa and Tammy were so fun to work with. Heather and I had a blast being a part of their day. They were so friendly and outgoing and it felt like every moment just flowed effortlessly into the next! It was so easy to see how in love they were. I was honored to be a part of their special day!
When I first connected with Melissa and Tammy, we went back and forth via email for a while and I learned a lot about them! Melissa is twin, which was cool to hear, since I had just given birth to twins of my own. I am sure as time goes on I may ask for advice about how crazy twins can be, haha. Melissa and Tammy are also working their way through the 46 high peaks of the Adirondacks, which I always find impressive.
Wedding day was a blast. I believe we drove up in the rain, but everything stopped once we made it to Lake Placid. It was off and on sunny and I was reminded by Melissa the other day that we were dealing with 47 MPH wind gusts that day! Hard to believe! It was chilly and challenging shooting with the wind, however, it made for some beautiful shots with flowing wedding dresses!
Speaking of dresses, there is a sweet back story behind the ones Melissa and Tammy were wearing. You'll see they wore matching dresses, however, it was unplanned. Both just happened to choose the same dress! Once they found out, they each went back to the dress store to get a different one, but decided to surprise each other and keep their initial dress. Turns out the secret slipped out before the wedding day, but it was still a fun surprise - and a great story!
We definitely worked our butts off for these photos; and despite the wind had a beautiful day with these two. The sunset was fantastic and we were able to capture a few quick shots of that before we lost it over the mountains.
