There are some families who begin to feel woven into the heart of my work, and this one is certainly among them.
Chris and Laura's Shaker Heritage Barn wedding in Albany was especially meaningful because it marked the third wedding I’ve had the joy of photographing within this family. Each celebration has had its own story, its own emotion, and its own beautiful details, but the common thread has been the same: a family full of love, warmth, and the kind of connection that makes a wedding day feel deeply personal.
To be invited back once is a gift. To be trusted again and again with such important memories is something I hold with so much gratitude. As a photographer, I get to witness some of life’s most tender and joyful moments from a very close place, and it means the world when families continue to welcome me into those moments.
This day was full of everything I love about weddings: heartfelt emotion, genuine laughter, thoughtful details, and a couple surrounded by people who could not have been happier to celebrate with them.
Some of the most meaningful moments of the day were the ones rooted in family and lifelong friendship. Laura's brother stood in for their dad, which brought such a tender layer of emotion to the day, and her best friend of more than twenty years served as the ring bearer - a sweet reminder that the people who walk beside us through life often become part of our love story, too.
Here are a few favorites from this beautiful wedding. Congrats again to Laura and Chris! xxoo
